October News

October is National Dental Hygiene Awareness Month, National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Child Health Awareness Month.  We are closed for Columbus Day/Fall Break on Monday, October 11^th.  And we are celebrating Cholla Montessori’s 8^th Year Anniversary on October 14^th!

October Birthdays: Addison S. turns 1 on October 9^th  Addison R. turns 2 on October 15^th . Easton turns 4 on Oct. 14^th.  Mireille turns 4 on October 19^th !  And don’t forget to say “Happy Birthday to Miss Amanda on Oct 7^th!   

Employee of the Month is Miss Jesse!   Please congratulate her for her hard work during the month of September! Our teacher who won the “Best Homeroom” award is Miss Patti!  Finally, our “Best Quiz” was turned in by Miss Amanda! Congratulations & keep up the great work!

Please remember: It is important that parents call in their child’s absence or late arrival each day by 9:00 a.m.  School starts no later than 9 am.  We depend on accurate attendance to ensure the smooth operation of the school.      

Also: Please make sure that you sign your child in and out each day, and include the time plus your full name.  Finally, a two week minimum written notice is required to terminate school.  We appreciate your cooperation.

October themes: -Friends –Fire Safety –Families–Halloween/Harvest  

Our language this month is German!  As part of our Practical Life curriculum we will be learning how to do Montessori’s Daily Greeting and How to Answer the Telephone.  We’ll read “Stories of Famous People” and learn about The Seasons as part of our Cultural and Science lessons.  In Mathematics we will be doing Montessori’s Memory Game of Numbers.  We will work on our vocabulary by using the Small Picture and Object Boxes.  Finally, we are learning about Fire Safety with a visit from Mesa Firefighters!   Fall/Halloween Party October 29^th!  Please see the Party needs sign-up sheet in our Lobby.
