February News

February is Black History Month and Safety Awareness Month.

* We are closed on Monday, February 20^st in observance of Presidents Day. 

*February 21-25 is Montessori Education Week! Celebrate Montessori!

 Valentine’s Day Party Tuesday, February 14^th!

 February Birthdays: There are no February Birthdays to announce this year! 

 Employee of the Month is Miss Ashlee!   Please congratulate her for her hard work during the month of January! Our teacher who won the “Best Homeroom” award is Miss Dani!  Finally, our “Best Quiz” was turned in by    ! Congratulations & keep up the great work!

 Please remember: It is important that parents call in their child’s absence or late arrival each day by 9:00 a.m.  School starts no later than 9 am.  We depend on accurate attendance to ensure the smooth operation of the school.      

Also: Please make sure that you sign your child in and out each day, and include the time plus your full name.  Finally, a two week minimum notice is required to terminate school service and close your account.  Thank you for your attention to these important issues.

Our language this month is American Sign Language!  As part of our Practical Life curriculum we will be caring for our environment by learning how to Wash a Table and How to Carry a Chair.  We will work with Montessori’s Red, Blue, Yellow and Green Cylinder Boxes as part of our Sensorial Lessons.  In Mathematics we will be doing the Memory Game of Numbers.  As part of our Cultural and Science Lessons, we will be working with the Sandpaper Globe.  Also, we will be learning Montessori’s Work Cycle and practicing self-control with the Silence Game.  

*We are also looking forward to a visit from the Dentist as well as our special   Valentines Party on Feb 14^th!  More details to come soon!
