About Us
Cholla Montessori began in 2000 as a small but highly successful "Family Child Care Center" in Mesa, Arizona. Due to its success and the encouragement of families who were seeking a high quality Montessori program, Cholla Montessori evolved into the premier learning center that it is now.
Today we are licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services and certified by the International Montessori Society. In addition, we have established a partnership with that National Association of Child Care Providers. NACCP is a prestigious organization, which recognizes outstanding early education programs for children, and is also the fastest growing organization of childcare professionals in the world. Through this partnership, Cholla Montessori is working to achieve national accreditation.
Staff
Victoria Best, Executive Director
At an early age, Victoria knew she wanted to make a career out of working with children. She started babysitting at the age of 12, always striving to provide a child-centered environment for the children in her care. After working for years in various Montessori and traditional preschool and childcare settings, Victoria started to envision her own quality Montessori program.
Victoria graduated Magna Cum Laude from Old Dominion University in Virginia in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services and Counseling. Victoria was on the Dean's List each semester at Old Dominion. She received her Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten Teaching Certification from NAMC in 2005. Victoria is a lifelong member of the National Golden Key Honor Society, as well.
The year 2000 saw the opening of a small Montessori preschool/childcare, named "Montessori Family Childcare Center”. This then blossomed into Cholla Montessori in 2002. Victoria now works as the Executive Director of Cholla Montessori, serving over 30 families in Mesa and surrounding areas.
Honors
Cholla Montessori is certified by IMS and is also accredited by the Better Business Bureau of Arizona. Cholla Montessori is also certified by DES and has achieved grants while working with the NACCP (National Association of Child Care Professionals). l
